The Trials of a Co-Main

I used to be in a raiding guild on Durotan called Aspire. It was one of the premier guilds on our server. We covered the same ground as the "hard core" raiding guilds without having to raid 6 or 7 nights a week. We only raided 4 nights a week and we progressed as far as many/most of the end game raiding guilds. It was a thing to be proud of.

Well, when I joined the guild, my main was my lvl 60 priest, Niimu. I love being a priest...I'm a damn good priest, for raiding. My spec is heavy holy and I have over 700 + healing. That is pretty damn good. The only problem was that I also had a lvl 60 mage. My mage is FUN FUN FUN. How hard can I hit that mob? Where am I on the damage meter? How can I hit harder? These are all questions that I asked my fellow mages as we were playing the game. Finally, my chance to apply for a co-main came. ZOMG I was so happy. So here I am, a mage and a priest...which one will they need tonight? Because you never quite know if they are gonna need damage or healing. Both toons are at the instance, waiting to be called...both toons have bought all the reagents necessary for their respective classes. And both toons have put out the money (virtual) to make sure they are repaired and ready for a night of hard use. Please, please, please pick my mage! ./beg Of course that is all in my head. I don't get to choose which toon I play. It's kind of annoying, but I have to keep raid balance in mind.

In the end, they usually picked my priest (uber healer) and my mage was left hanging out to dry. And that made me a sad panda. What I should have done was retire Niimu (the priest) and made Kaliandra (the mage) my only main. But I couldn't do that...I"m such a sucker that I couldn't deprive the guild of a healer, even when I was absolutely tired of playing her that I could scream. Oh well. That part of my life on Durotan is over now. Now I get to play whichever toon "I" want to play. Aspire bit the dust last month, in advance of the expansion coming out. Basically, 40-man raiding forces are going to be a thing of the past, in about 13 days. THANK GOD! At that point, I will have a lvl 60 priest, mage and hopefully warrior ready and waiting to go into the new instances and get uber plewtz and pwn some face in there...we'll see.

Until next time, happy hunting!
